I can finally let the cat out of the bag on this one. It's been a long time coming, many years in fact. All of you know about Project Christn, if you don't, you havn't been reading this site. Just take a look at the menu selection on the left of of your screen. It's all there.

BUT! As everyone over at http://www.aircooledvwsa.co.za will be able to confirm. I have been hunting for a VW Type 3 Fastback, for longer than I care to remember. I bought one to restore, about 18 months ago. The project quickly died when I managed to crush the wishbone with my left hand, the rust demons had a royal feast there. That particular fastback was dead on arrival, and became a parts donor for Christn.

So my search continued, every now and then I'd check the classifieds. I'd respond to ads and ask for info and pictures. More often than not, the lead was a dead end.

Then, Friday before last. I received pictures from an add I responded to quite some time ago. That Friday was a complete waste at work. Hardly got anything done. I've never made so many phone calls, in such a short time before.

To make a long story short. She was delivered, to my father's house in Gauteng, yesterday afternoon.

She is a 1966 VW Fastback. Original 6 volt configuration, 1600 Twin Carb TL engine (authentic VW South Africa Exchange unit).

Anyway. I'm going to shut up now and let the pictures do the talking.
